how to use PIV
The java applet contains both keyboard and mouse controls.
function keyboard mouse
Panning Hold down arrow keys. Click left mouse button and drag mouse.
 
Zooming Press page up/page down. Hold down shift, click left mouse and drag up/down.
 
Reset Zoom Press home. Select the appropiate button on the toolbar
 
Resizing Hold down control, press page up/page down. Hold down control, click left mouse and drag up/down.
 
Reset Size Hold down control, press home. Select the appropiate button on the toolbar
 
Toggle Display Mode Press A. N/A
 
Help Press H Select the appropiate button on the toolbar

tips for slower computers

If the applet appears to be sluggish, a couple features have been added to assist.

The first is the ability to resize the display window by either holding the 'Control' key and moving your mouse down, or holding the 'Control' key and pressing 'Page Down'.

If the results are still too slow then you can switch into "Optimized Speed" mode by pressing 'A'. When in this mode the warping algorithm is not applied to the image so it will appear as if you are sliding a large flat image. You will not have the ability to zoom or resize the window when in this mode.
